all the text below is a method to create this scene only,and not recommended for all exterior estate..
Step 01. This project is a simple practice for design in terrain and inspired from falling water ( frank Lloyd Wright ) the most powerful design in organic section and stark villa from iron man 1.however this design limited to spot spaces and just looking for totality of form.
Step 02. The main building model is so simple ( created with wall and box geometry ) and edited by ( editable poly ). To effect on the special object ( fireplace ) I used noise parameter for it.
Step 03. As you can see I used Rock generator (Download) script for create the rocks.its so simple ( just press create and control the form with FFD box ).
Step 04. To make the terrain I used the nice parameter in editable poly ( paint deformation ) to do this use push/pull and control the value and size to different terrain.pay attention to push the object hold ALT key.
Step 05 . To railings I used Railclone plugin.create the line with snaps and use it.
Step 06 . Trees and plants in this scene ( Evermotion arch model VOL 58 ) and ( Trees Russia bushes 29_01_09 )
Step 07 . In this section I try to make proxy for my work.I used very powerful plugin for it ( itoo forest lite3 ) and create my tree to proxy like this picture. ( select object for proxy in custom object in the forest menu and see the plugin create a new object of tree ) to create the proxy you can use the vray proxy or many plugin exist for this.
Step 08 . For scatter the grass I used the advanced painter script.You can see first I made the vray proxy ( grasses ) and open advanced painter script and select it with pick on the script.for paint it select the paint and scatter the grasses.( pay attention put the max orientation higher.like 90 )
Step 09 . concrete material is Vray blend Mtl.as you can see I used vray dirt for it.

Step 13. The exterior lighting have a many way to create realistic scene like use HDRI with vray dome light or use target spot and.!!In this scene I used a vray sun only.you can see the setting in this corner.
Step 14. For interior lights I put the 3 photometric lights and change the colour mode to ( halogen warm). Remember to active the area shadow in vray shadows params.
Step 15. Vray Physical camera The shot have been rendering using Vray camera.you can see the setting below.
Step 16. The render setting of this scene is not high setting render.you can see I used irradiance map and light cache.My PC is based on core i7 930 and rendering time is about 1 hours.
Step 17. In the frame buffer windows my offer is to use the colour corrections.you can control all item in render like curves and control shadows ( dark or light ) and exposure.
Step 18. in PS I want to add volumetric light for my scene and I show you how to create it. 1 – create new layer fill with dark color
Step 19. 2 – change opacity and create fill line on your target.
Step 20. 3 – go to filter – blur – motion blur and change angle like the picture.
Step 21. 4 – change layer mode to screen and set the opacity to 25%
Step 22. 5 – in the end use eraser tools remove the unusable spaces.
Step 23. In this section I used the magic bullet photo looks 2 ( plugin for PS cs 6) for last post production. you can see the tools I used to post work. After use the photo looks . I go to filter – sharpen – unsharpened mask and make my render sharper.
